The Owl and the American is the “reader” blog for O + S. Essentially it is a combination of favorites from my reader with a sort of notebook for the {network}.
O+S on Twitter Facts about what Joe may be doing, thinking, or websites he may have recently found interesting. Sadly, this is what constitutes a life for many people. Today it’s called “information”.
Oak + Stag blog is the official blog of Joseph Snodgrass. While occasionally void of action (due to a busy school schedule), O+S blog acts as the hub of ideas and commentary ranging from the sciences to music (including Ambient Theory), and occasionally includes a review of music or literature.
O+S {music diary} While my music creations vary between three or four different projects, only two are official. This leaves a lot of excess for other yet unnamed projects and update areas for music projects Ehrler Vogel and the Lights Galaxia.
Luxus-Arctica records International LUXX focuses on the genres of Ambient Electronica and Minimal Ambient music. The focus is on free (preferably Creative Commons) releases and promote some releases for purchase. One of the main goals behind LUXX is to promote the ideals of the Long Now Foundation (not affiliated) – or rather, thinking in the long term (the next 10,000 years). Artists include Carl Sagan’s Ghost, the Lights Galaxia, Specta Ciera, Visuelle Musik, Marcus Fischer, and Clark Nova Portable. Currently the label is taking a break from releases, but does expect to eventually release more.
The Lights Galaxia music project was founded by Joseph Snodgrass. The sounds are rich in electronic ambientmusic and occasionally shaded with electric guitar while also creating with minimal ambient sounds. The Long Now is also considered in this music project (directly) – the overall feel of the catalog should represent a “trans-ambience” of sorts. The aether existing in time. Also key are the ideas of the betterment of humanity and realizing our place in the cosmos. The first EP was released in October of 02009 and featured guitar by Daniel Davis (Carl Sagan’s Ghost).
